I needed a replacement for the brake light housing for my 1994 Mercury Villager. The replacement brake light housing was fine but the tail light housing was not the same. My tail light has a single bulb contact in it but this replacement has a dual contact. I was able to cut the wires to the broken brake light and use the new part by soldering it into place. None of the wire colors matched, so I had to use an electric tester to figure it out (red goes to green, yellow goes to orange). That took a lot of time. Then, when I was installing the new housing, the bulb fell out and into the reflector housing. It was very difficult to get the bulb out of the hole, but my wife's skinny fingers wrapped in duct tape did the trick. I had to tighten the socket's metal sleeve with a pliers to prevent the bulb from falling out again.
