Both tail lights (left and right) had the well known melting of the red lense, so I decided to replace them with the LED version, which does not have the problem since it does not use an incandescent bulb. The brightness is MUCH better with the LED. However, as a few people have pointed out the fit of the assembly is not perfect. It is very, very close, but not as good as the original. This was the case for both sides. The slight jutting out of the plastic is not noticeable, but is there. If you are OCD and need a perfect fit, this may not work for you, but the pros far outweigh the cons IMO.

Love how the red lights look when braking and how they’re clear otherwise. Only con is that they don’t fit perfectly into place, but they do fit nonetheless! May bother you if you’re a perfectionist like me. Would recommend

Question: If I originally had the halogen version of these, can I replace them with the LED version in order to avoid the melting plastic issue?Mike W. / Jun 15, 2022
That is exactly what I did with my son's 08. I have an 07 with LED, so I was able to verify it would work before ordering.
These replaced the halogen housings perfectly, with no more melting issues.

Hello! Many LED panels are not considered serviceable and the whole unit must be replaced if there is a failure. Exactly which bulb is out on your car? I will try and see if it's replaceable or not.
