Part arrived sooner than expected and was boxed well. It took about 15 minutes to install, very easy. Was identical to the original tail light and fit perfectly along all the seems of the car.

The part (a Subaru driver side tail light) was ordered on line with no problem. It came within a few days and was installed by my son-in-law within 20 minutes. He had no problem and it is as good as new.

Question: How do you remove the old cover & install the new one?Louie D. / Oct 28, 2021
Hi Louie, I'm pleased to assist you. This is not just the cover, it's the whole tail light assembly (without the bulbs). There are a lot of videos on YouTube and Google with step-by-step instructions on how to remove and install the tail light. Just type how to replace tail lights and add the year, make, and model of the vehicle. Fairly easy job really. Click on the link below to order at 49% off the regular price while supplies last. https://www.carparts.com/tail-light/replacement/reps730332q?can=CPGG4850 I hope this helps. There are bolts on the inside of the trunk you have to remove. After that there might be a latch you need to disengage depending on the year of the car. If it has the latch you will need a small thin tool to slide in and hit the latch. Otherwise you will just need to fiddle with the fixture to get it out of the notch that locks it to the car. Be careful though because the wires are very thin. There are a few YouTube videos on how to do it, but unfortunately I am not able to post a link due to the rules of the website.

In the 2014 Forester it is a couple of bolts that are easy to remove. Then the assembly comes out by pulling on it. Finally you disconnect the wires. Reverse the process to put in the new assembly.
