Hi Dylan, I'm happy to assist you. This item is similar to the original cables. However, this item doesn't have anything to do with a slow or fast release tailgate. There is another part that looks like a shock absorber which makes the tailgate open slowly. Take advantage of the sale price and limited stocks for this item.
