Perfect replacement! I was beginning to think the holes for the rods to go in were too small just about the time they went through. But that's probably the way you want it to make it last.
I wish I knew what the previous owner had done with the cover for the inside of the handle assembly it c could have found a replacement.

It’s the whole assembly and it works well. Installed into my 2011 Avalanche easily. Just make sure the clamp on the right is tight, it came lose once and I had to take the whole tailgate apart again to reattach it. Get yourself some 3M tape also to reattach the tailgate lip.

It is the whole assembly. Works great, but make sure not to throw away your original splash guard if you have it. It protects the inside components form getting wet.
