We highly recommend having the vehicle diagnosed by a certified mechanic to determine what part needs replacement.

Answered by Grace G. / Fri, Dec 11The coil spring is probably broken inside the mechanism. You need to replace the entire latch. If you know nothing about gate operation you'll need someone who does to install this part.

As per checking, this item does not come with installation hardware (clips). You can reuse the old ones or we suggest getting those locally through a local auto supply store.
