Upon checking, this transfer case motor is not compatible with the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe. I have found the direct-fit part of the vehicle. It is part number 600-899 (4WD, w/RPO Code NQH (2 Speed, Switch Activated, Transfer Case)) or just follow the link to get to the product page;

Answered by Grace G. / Thu, Oct 15I watch a YouTube video it's simple pull out front drive shaft , unplug encoder motor , pull out 3 bolts really simple . The video I watched said if transfercase was in 4x4 to hit last button where it was locked. DO NOT! Do that motor works off of resistance and will burn new encoder up which is what I did . Take a pair of pliers and rotate spline to neutral make take a few tries but spline should turn easily motor will come in neutral should fit directly on. I still haven't ordered another new motor yet.

Answered by Charley O. / Thu, Oct 15The best way is to look up installation on a Chevy forum. You have a sequence to push the 4wd buttons before removing the old and installing new. This way the transducer is in the correct position

I have a 2 Wheel push button, a neutral light no button, a 4 low push button and a 4-High push button on the dash. To me that is a 3 position switch, am I wrong? Answered by Grace G. / Thu, Dec 10The fourth position came on 1500 and HD1500. Along with 2H, 4H and 4L, there is a 4WD Auto button. Only engages 4WD when the front wheel or wheels lose traction.
