Question: Will this work with my key trunk activator?Ralph M. / Oct 31, 2020
Hi Oh, This is for manual operation(pulling the lever from the driver side location to open the trunk), not for a keyless function.

yes your current key fob is already programmed to your BCM (body control module) it is the BCM that send the power to the actuator which is simply a electrical solenoid and not a receiver in itself

This is the manual portion of your trunk latch. It shouldn't impact the electronic function of the trunk. Once installed, mine works as per the original.

It definitely worked for my trunk. My trunk works with the remote control. Haven't had any problems at all. I recommend Car Parts .

10mm socket and maybe a flat head screwdriver to pop off some plastic clips. Easy to replace

Question: I have a 2013 dodge dart the trunk clicks when I press button but does not open. Could it be acuator or something else?Andre P. / Sep 16, 2020
Hi Andre, There is a possibility it could be the actuator but to avoid any problems, we highly recommend having the vehicle diagnosed by a certified mechanic to determine what part needs replacement.

if you here a click from the trunk then it means the remote is sending a signal to the actuator so the key fob is working and the electrical part of the actuator is working. You might have a weak solenoid in the actuator or the actuator might be misaligned and binding. If you can open the trunk with a key then toss a buddy into the trunk with a flashlight and have him pull the emergency handle. if it opens the trunk without binding and easily then most likely you need a new actuator. as for the staff recommendation of talking to a mechanic who is certified then you just already did and he says replace the actuator
