This part has usually features with headlight dimmer, with auto headlight, turn signals control, wiper and washer functionality, low and high beam switch and others. The problem lies on the terminals or number of prongs on the socket connector will differ or the shape of the socket connector would vary as well.

We cannot say for sure since there are other problems that could result to that problem. Such as a busted fog light fuse or a defective fog light switch or a busted fog light bulb. Please have it checked carefully by a professional mechanic or someone who is familiar with car electrical issues.
