Question: How to replace  the air  valance front  on a 2016 ford  escape??Richard R. / Mar 27, 2021
Hi Richard, We recommend referring to a good repair manual for step by step instructions. It may require basic automotive knowledge for proper installation, and professional installation is always recommended. You can find more information here: https://www.carparts.com/blog/why-you-should-always-consult-a-repair-manual/

The valance is located within the front bumper cover thus the bumper cover must be removed. Ford did not make this easy. The Ford parts manual, which your dealer can make a copy for you, shows an exploded view of all the pieces that comprise the bumper cover and valance. There are lots of small screws to remove as well as splash guard plastic rivets and two plastic pop rivets. The plastic pop rivets require a special tool or something similar to clinch the rivet. There are several screws in front of the tires in the fender well and behind components in the engine bay where the bumper cover is attached to the fender sheet metal. hese screws are best accessed with a 1/4 inch air ratchet plus there is a plastic locating part that is not sold separately from the bumper cover. You also have to remove the under body splash shield since some of the bumper cover fasteners are there. There are electrical wires going to the parking/fog lights and outside temperature sensor. plus routing clips for the wiring harnesses. Take your time and if it is not coming off look for more fasteners. These cars were initially designed in Europe as Kugas and they love fasteners.

It is held on with some screws and push pins that go on your door panels etc. It's not very hard if you have experience in dealing with any kind of car plastic body pieces at all
