You will not receive a CEL from replacing the valve cover. I’ve been using this product for the last 40,000 miles with no signs of failure. I would recommend this for anyone looking to replace a leaking valve cover gasket or failed vacuum (the circular thing on top of the n55 valve covers that’s integrated), in my mind I’d rather replace it all than just one at a time.

Made of an auto grade polymer, kit includes gaskets new mounting bolts and spacers in the cover to prevent crushing (over tightening). I still have the car I installed it on and no leaks.

Polymer cover gaskets and new bolts. Cover has overtightening prevention spacers molded in. 2 1/2 years later no leaks

N55 only, and have pre-made pcv in cover. Best option if you have an oil leak, replacing just the gasket is not the proper way to do the job
