Answered by Arnel E. / Mon, Apr 24Question: I have a 2002 Mitsubishi lancer es 2.0L engine light is on got code po403 has a little vibration at idle when you take off fast I can smell suffer or rotten egg smell oh sorry po403 is exhaust gas recirculation control circuit what do you recommend for me to check and/or clean ? what do you think I should do ? I have a code scanner and i cleared code car ran good for about 4 or 5 days lite came back on rough idle came back too checked gas cap shook couldn't hear valve moving is that cap bad ? and a place for me to start ?thanks Glenn G.Glenn G. / May 21, 2021
Hi Glen, I'm glad to help you out. PO403 indicates that the engine exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) circuit has malfunctioned. There could be a short or open circuit in the EGR vacuum control solenoid or wiring to the solenoid. Let me provide you the links to the parts I suggest to be replaced.
