It fit the car perfectly. However that did not solve my problem. The car is still overheating. I believe it could possibly be the thermostat not opening like it should.

Yes, this would run counterclockwise rotation exactly the same as for the 1999 Dodge Dakota Base 4 Cyl 2.5L.
