It fit the car perfectly. However that did not solve my problem. The car is still overheating. I believe it could possibly be the thermostat not opening like it should.

Hello! That's odd, as my first suggestion would be thermostat. Perhaps the new one was faulty or installed incorrectly? It's possible that your water pump has failed or broken, and it's also possible that the system is clogged somewhere else - possibly your radiator.

Answered by Mitchell D. / Wed, Dec 16I'm in total agreement with Mitchell D. In my case, the pump had begun leaking; in yours, it sounds as though it has failed. Still, there's an under-chassis plastic shroud that could be masking a small leak in either the lower hose or the pump. Follow gravity and see what she has wrought!
