The actuator worked perfectly. Solved the problem I was having with heat coming out of my drivers side vents while my air conditioner was on. Highly recommended!

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy. The been door actuator have been inoperable for some time. I keep watching videos to make the repairs myself. Well, I did it, and the actuator fit perfectly. The actuator is performing as stated with two problems and I’m going to replace all the actuators the next time I tear the car down. The parts I’m getting from Carparts.com performed expertly.

Question: I got this part to fit in my Envoy it is all the same except plastic piece in the hole mine doesn’t have that. Will it fit or can I take it out?Sherilyn G. / Nov 30, 2020
Hi Sherilyn,
This is for 2003-2009 GMC Envoy.
To check the fitment please use our Vehicle Selector — which can be found towards the top of the homepage as well as all categories, search results, and product pages — can help verify if a part will fit your specific application.
To enter your application, simply select your vehicle’s year, make, model, sub-model, and engine type and click “Go.” Once your application is selected, you’ll see a “Guaranteed to Fit” badge if the part will fit, and we recommend that you also double-check Your Vehicle Fit Details as well as the Vehicle Fitment Information table on the product page.

The plastic piece is the actual temp adjustment - it's what moves when you slide the temp gauge in the center console - definitely need it! If the piece is still attached inside your vehicle, then you can slide this piece on to it, however, you'll need to know where the actuator is set to and match the inside temp gauge before installing - I found I needed the inside set to max heat for this to slide on and work correctly

Answered by Roger J. / Mon, Nov 30There is two of them under the driver side steering wheel one that comes with the white piece and one without. I'm guessing you took apart the one with out the white piece. But the other should fit perfectly and you can't take off the white part because you'll break it. I believe the one with the white thing is to control the vents for the a/c and the one with out is to control the speed on the a/c.

My 06 Envoy needed this gear. So if your old one doesn't have it I would think you can remove it. I reached under with my phone and took a picture of the old one. It's not easy to get to. Butch

My advice would be to take it to a repair shop that can run the test on the HVAC system with a high-quality scanner so they can run through each scanner in that system. You wouldn't have to let them fix it, but you would know which actuator it is that is failing.

This looks like the one I purchased. Mine fit in the upper center of my 06 Envoy. Access to it was from the Driver's side under the dash.
