Typically there is a hose clamp keeping it secure so you'll have to use pliers and move the clamp further down the hose. After you'll have to work it out by twisting but WD-40 makes it easy. Coolant will leak so have a pan.

If you're experiencing problems with the heat coming out of your vents, the issue could lie with the blend door/valve, a thermostat malfunction, or other components in the heating system.
