On the 1998 Chevrolet K1500, the passenger side axle is the same as the driver side axle. So, you would simply order two axles. Carparts.com sells them individually or in pairs.
On some front wheel drive vehicles, the driver side axle and the passenger side axle are different and cannot be interchanged. But that is not the case with your truck. Both sides are the same and are interchangeable. Just one more reason to keep those old Chevys going!
By the way, the factory service manual instructs you to disconnect numerous parts when doing this job. It seems like they are going overboard on the removal of parts, but they're not. I tried removing as little as possible and it was a big hassle to get the old CV axle out and the new one in. When I did the job the way Chevrolet said to, it was a breeze.
