Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Turn off your engine and set the parking brake.

Step 2: Loosen the rear wheel’s lug nuts.

Step 3: Lift the front of your vehicle using a suitable jack. Refer to the video on “How to jack your RAM 1500 safely” for guidance.

Step 5: In order to change the rear ABS sensor, take off the wheel to have full access.

Step 6: Don’t forget to put the wheels under the vehicle.

Step 7: Using a ratchet and an 8 mm socket, unscrew the ABS sensor’s retaining bolt.

Step 8: Finish unscrewing the cap by hand.

Step 9: Then, remove the sensor by jiggling it back and forth.

Step 10: Unclip all the retaining clips holding the ABS sensor cable onto the brake hose.

Step 11: Using a fork, unclip the ABS sensor cable retaining clip located on the chassis.

Step 12: Once the cable is completely unclipped, remove the ABS sensor cable connector from its support.

Step 13: Disconnect the connector by pressing on the plastic tab using a flat-head screwdriver and pulling on the connector.

Step 14: Remove the cable.

Step 15: Take the new cable.

Step 16: Slide it into its housing.

Step 17: Reconnect the connector. Then lock it.

Step 18: Reclip the connector onto its support.

Step 19: Reclip the cable back onto the support.

Step 20: Reclip all of the ABS sensor cable retaining clips.

Step 21: Before installing the new sensor, thoroughly clean its location using a wire brush.

Step 22: Insert the sensor into its housing.

Step 23: Retighten the retaining bolt.

Step 24: Put the wheel back on your vehicle.

Step 25: Lower the car to the ground and block the wheel properly.

Step 26: The operation is now complete.
