Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Turn your engine off and set the parking brake.

Step 2: Open the car’s tailgate to access and replace the tail light bulbs.

Step 3: To remove the taillight assembly, use a ratchet and a T25 Torx socket to remove the two screws.

Step 4: Pull rearward on the light assembly to snap it out of the retainers at the outside edge.

Step 5: Disconnect the electrical connectors from the taillight assembly by pulling on the tab and then on the connector.

Step 6: Turn the brake/taillight/turn signal bulb socket counterclockwise and pull it out to remove the bulb.

Step 7: Take the new bulb.

Step 8: To reassemble, repeat the process in reverse. Put the socket into the taillight housing and turn it clockwise to lock it in place.

This thin layer of dust and grease is prone to storing more heat at this very spot, thereby weakening the glass and ultimately making it explode.
Always ensure the lightbulbs are correctly placed (flat position).
