Question: So far I've ordered bumper covers for my 2004 Dodge Dakota and received two that had fog lights with them, but no way to mount the lights to the bumper. Then I ordered the xl and it was a two piece lower half. It will take the fog lights, but it won't bolt up to my bumper bracket and frankly I never knew there was a two piece. Hi James, I'm glad to assist you. On our bumper cover selection, it shows there are two options. The one-piece type and the two-piece type. You just have to select the correct type and that should also go with the fog lights that may have different mountings for each bumper type as well. Our database is down I cannot open any orders now and will have to get back to you still. I hope this helps.

I received a third bumper that has the fog light mounting, but it turned out to be the bottom of a two piece bumper. I didn't even know there was a two piece bumper and it wasn't made to fit my truck. I'm having the original one body worked and painted. To carparts credit, they did reimburse me the cost of all three bumpers and told me to keep them or dispose of them, rather than ship back. I was hoping there bumpers worked, because even used ones at the wrecking yards can run twice the price.

I would go to the Mopar website and get the proper part number based on my VIN. Then I would go back to carparts.com and convert that part number and order. If your vehicle has not been owned by you since noon, it may have been wrecked and some aftermarket parts used and therefore you will probably never find the right thing. I have had that happen in the past with other vehicles.

Most of the time, many people simply leave it as ease without any paint since it is with a rough textured finish. The Auto body paint shop would have to do some special type of procedure to smoothen the surface first before painting it. A bit costly procedure however, compared with a smooth finish bumper cover. However, the 2-piece bumper consists of a steel upper bumper and lower plastic bumper cover. This item is the lower section for models with a 2-piece bumper.
