Great price, poor replacement fitFront Bumper Reinforcement, Steel

I purchased this bumper reinforcement for my daughter's 2005 Subaru. Other than being black, the part appeared to be identical to the original part. However, the uprights were welded about 1/4" narrower than the factory part and the holes were about 3/16" too narrow. Since the factory part damage was from a direct rear-end collision that flattened the main cross member by about 1", it would not have widened the part or spread the frame rails.
I elongated the holes on the replacement part and had to peen an indention into the uprights so that the nuts could be installed. During this process, It became apparent that this replacement part is made of very thin and soft steel -- much easier to bend than the factory part.
For less than 1/2 of the dealer price and based on the fact that this part is entirely hidden it worked out OK, it just added an extra hour to the job.

I do not have access to that information, but you can contact your local dealership for hardware (nut and bolts) specifications.
