Hi Larry,
Because this only fits up to the 2002 models. This bumper is not compatible with the 2004 body style of the Silverado 1500.

Question: On line this bumper is a PERFECT fit for my 1985 El Camino, BUT when I submit my fitment details (85 base EC), I am told it will NOT fit this car. What's up, will it fit or not?

Hi Ted,
The fitment states that this is not compatible with a 1985 Chevrolet El Camino. Upon checking, the bumper only fits the GM truck models.
