Open your hood. Start by removing the panel clips and panel covering your grill. Remove the bolts holding the grill to the core support. Remove the grill. From underneath the truck, on the left and right sides, find the curved support tubes that attach to the bumper near the fog lights. Using an 18 mm socket or wrench, remove the bolts attached to the outer ends of the support tubes. Disconnect fog lights at the connector. From the top, behind the bumper, you will see the frame rails extend into the area under where the grill was mourned. On the end of the frame rails, loosen the vertical bolts going through the bumper brackets using an 18MM socket or wrench. Leave the bolts in the holes. Get some help, hold the bumper and entire lower valance assembly in place and remove the two vertical bolts. The entire bumper assembly with the lower valance will pull out as one piece. Find a suitable work table to place the bumper assembly on. You will need to remove the valance, brackets and everything else attached to the bumper. Change out the bumper and assembly in reverse order. Removing and Installing the bumper and valance as an assembly is easier than trying to take individual parts and pieces off while underneath the truck. After the bumper and valance are installed, reconnect the fog lights. Reinstall the grill and cover panel.

If you could clarify your question I could help answer it better I’m not sure what you mean by inner open area? Although I would not suggest the bumper at this point as rust has started to appear on the outer top part of it. So most likely I will have to replace it with a better quality bumper :-(
