Question: If I'm replacing my catalytic converter will I also have to buy all new 02 sensors ?Chelssx / Nov 28, 2022
Hi Chelsea, I'm glad to assist you. Not necessarily. Once you install the new catalytic converter and no check engine light comes on, there is no need to buy new sensors. But, if a check engine light comes on repeatedly after installing the catalytic converter. Then it is required to replace the downstream oxygen sensors as well. Grab our sale price with 42% off already. Click the link below to order today. Happy shopping! https://www.carparts.com/catalytic-converter/evan-fischer/repd960306?can=CPJE1043_CSQA_20221127

Question: Are there any instructions for "breaking in" this catalytic converter?James A. / Oct 07, 2024
Hi James, I'm glad to assist you. Some aftermarket catalytic converter manufacturers strongly recommend “breaking in” their converters on the vehicle to allow for proper expansion of the mat and secure the converter substrate. To start the break-in procedure, start the car after you've replaced the cat. Let the car idle in place without applying any gas. When the engine warms up to its operating temperature, get inside and give the car enough gas to bump the RPMs to around 2500. Hold it there for 2 minutes and then release the gas. But, in most cases, Catalytic converters are designed to be installed and used immediately without any special preparation. They start working as soon as they are exposed to exhaust gases.
