Mark, I have an 06 tl and the dash suddenly started cracking by the air bag on the passenger side then in the middle. I tried the vinyl fix and it just cracked again and it just does not look good. I found this coverlay. These are absolutely awesome!!! Worth the $$. Every penny. Follow the instructions. I did a dry fit and then placed in there with the silicone. it is slightly off (1/8") because of the age of my car but all in all looks good and will last for how ever long I will be owning this car. Look around for prices you can get them for about $160-$200.

Question: HOW DO YOU INSTALL THIS PRODUCT  DO YOU NEED TO TAKE OUT THE WINDSHIELD?STEVEN W. / Jan 30, 2023
Hi Steven, I'm glad to be of assistance to you. No need to remove the windshield. The dash cover should fit snugly over the entire dash. First, clean your existing dash and the underside of your new dash cover. Practice putting it in place with tape. Apply the silicone adhesive provided in your kit to the underside of the dash cover around the edges and vent holes. Click on the link below to order at a discounted price today, while supplies last. You don't need to remove the windshield. The dash cover fits over the original dashboard. I placed the cover on the dashboard without gluing initially for a couple of days in order for it to form better to the dash.

There is no need to remove any parts on the vehicle. You will want to thoroughly clean the dash in prep for installation, as well as the underside of the item, and follow the tips that are on the provided video.

Oh gosh no. It’s a little bit flexible. Before I laid the silicone I just dry fitted it first. A bit of a pain to put in and take out but worth the time before the silicone. Looks great.

The coverlay comes with silicone adhesive and instructions for installation. Removing the windshield, or anything for that matter is not required. It slides into place just fine.

Question: Is it easy to remove?Sam C. / May 15, 2021
Hi Sam, I'm glad to assist you. this dash cover is attached by a silicone glue under its surface. This would be somehow a permanent fixture to be placed on top of your old worn out dashboard. Still, for any reason you would like to remove this part, it is of course removable but the sticky silicone that attaches it has to be forcefully removed carefully to prevent damage on the new dash cover. Please click the link below to order this part today. I hope this helps. Happy shopping. https://www.carparts.com/dash-cover/coverlay/cvl30408llblk?can=CPJE1043

As previously stated, it’s intended to be adhered to the dash with the silicone. We sanded down the edges and fitted it first and then popped it back off to apply the silicone. It was not easy to pop into place and it was even more difficult to pull it back up after we made sure it fit. Mine has not stayed attached with the silicone but flexes with temperature change. Definitely recommend finding many small and densely heavy objects to weight it down when applying, and probably best to do it in warm weather so it will flex and stay in contact.

The silicone glue does not work that well, so the cover doesn't attach permanently. I cleaned the dash, glued the cover down and put weights on it. Let it sit a couple days in the garage and as soon as the car sat out in the sun, the cover started to pop up. I pulled it off easily, bought another tube of the silicone glue, and same issue again. Good luck!

Question: Does the texture look like the original vehicle?Mike M. / Dec 08, 2020
Hi Mike, There may be a slight difference in the texture compared to the original, but it will do the job of covering up the old and cracked dashboard.

It looks like the fake leather texture, like the front of the glove box. It doesn’t look like the tiny perforated holes on the top of the dash. It isn’t perfect but it blends decently. If you didn’t know it was there you wouldn’t notice.

Although it is a plastic mold, given you are looking to cover a cracked dash, it does an excellent job.
