Answered by Grace G. / Mon, Jan 25Take it to your local auto parts store (O’Reilly, Auto Zone, etc.) and have them scan for error codes, which should allow you to find out what “system” is causing and then you can begin to figure out the likely repair.

Answered by Darin P. / Tue, Jan 26Yes it will need to be taken to a transmission specialty shop. Best case it just needs a filter and fluid change but having owned a lot of bmws they had a transmission issue that is not fixable and was never recalled.
