Great deal!Blower Motor Resistor

I paid a fraction of the price for my part at carports, and it works fine without issues. It was a motor blower resister. Only $20 vs. $50+ all other online retailers. Great deal!

Question: How do I know that the fan blower is not in need of a replacement?Anthony H. / Nov 20, 2021 / 2005 BMW X5Blower Motor Resistor
Hello! Usually the blower motor resistor will fail, but the blower still still work on the highest setting. If the blower isn't working at all, I would check the fuses first.

Hi, it's rare that the blower motor fails but not impossible. In my case the blower motor would vary in speed on its own regardless of my setting, that's when I realize that the resistor was bad due to the fact that the resistor controls the speed of the motor depending on my setting. Once the resistor is going bad, you have no control of the speed of the motor. Sometimes it will work and very on speed on its own or sometimes it won't work at all. In my opinion it's cheaper to replace the resistor and easier than to replace the blower motor.

Question: This has a note that says “with out climate control “ what does that mean ? Does that mean that it won’t be able to set the fan speed or will it be stuck in one setting ?A Shopper / Jul 10, 2020 / 2005 BMW X5Blower Motor Resistor
Hi, It actually means that this resistor only fits the models with the manual, or knob-type a/c controls. Not compatible with the models with auto-climate controls.
