The reason I replaced it was the old one had a ripped boot on trans end but no clunking like now. Cause it don't seem to want to fit. My husband, mom's boyfriend, and my brother tried to put them in and the one they were working with didn't seem to fit. One end will have or should have a snap ring on it the other end should be threaded. Threader end to the wheel .it may take a little force lining up splines by turning it and pushing it in you can feel it also it should almost snap in place.
