Hi Wesley, thank you for reaching out. The installation of this product may require cutting and welding as part of the minor modifications. Although this part is an aftermarket item, the thickness gauge is similar to the factory specifications of the applicable GMC/Chevrolet vehicles to conform with the quality standard of the original equipment manufacturer. As of the fitment notes, this is only for a fleetside/styleside bed. This will not fit a stepside bed.
