The sound produced is called turbo flutter. When the throttle is closed rapidly, the valve vents boost pressure back into the intake tract before the turbocharger, and after the air flow meter, it is the air that has already been measured. Hi Douglas, I replaced this on a Chevrolet 2015 1.4L with a Turbo engine, because I found this valve with a broken vacuum connection on my car,the turbo did not work for that reason,I installed new valve an it proved it operated the vacuum for the turbo for my car, Hope My info helps you! :)
