Question: I have a 2004 Dodge Laramie V8 5.7 l it drives fine starts and runs beautiful, has reverse and first gear. it has fluid in it, but it will not go up into higher gears. would this module the control module be the proper one to fix this problem? or would it be the overdrive module? I only have low gears and reverse.Mark68 / Aug 20, 2023 / 1991 Dodge D150Transmission Control Module - Direct Fit, Sold Individually
Hi Mark, I'm glad to assist you. Yes. This transmission control module could be a problem since you cannot shift to higher gears. It is one symptom of a bad TCM. Also, make sure the transmission fluid is in the proper amount. Another possibility is a faulty transmission control solenoid which controls the flow of transmission fluid. It is best to run a diagnostic check and pinpoint the problem party once a trouble code appears.
