The rear step bumper is not designed to pull a trailer. I would recommend a trailer hitch with part number CUR13361. This hitch would be installed to the rear chassis and will not interfere with the factory stock step bumper. Please click the links below to see the hitch and would serve as your reference as well.

Answered by Jeonino E. / Thu, Mar 25No. You still have to have a receiver that mounts to the chassis below the bumper to tow. I would NOT recommend towing anything with the bumper alone. There is a hole to put a ball in it to tow but first off it's too high to attach a trailer with out the trailer being at a steep angle and second I wound not trust towing anything with just the bumper. As for fitting a 2005 I am not sure. If it says it fits a 2005 it will, if it doesn't it won't. Always do research on how to tow properly. I see a lot of people out there who are overweight and don't have the proper equipment to do so which is very dangerous.

Answered by Austin O. / Fri, Mar 26If your truck came with a hitch that is designed to be used with a ball in the center of the step bumper then yes (you have to under the truck to see the hitch). Towing capacity for this setup is about 6000 lbs. It was never intended to tow with only the bumper. However, as someone mentioned, this setup is high so you may get some interference. I towed a small trailer without any problem but my car hauler comes over the top of the step (of the bumper) and tears the rubber. I'm ordering a new bumper and a universal hitch to replace the setup that came with the truck.
