2008 ford escape?Angela M. / Sep 25, 2020 / 2008 Ford EscapeWheel Arch Repair Panel - Rear, Passenger Side, Upper, Direct Fit, Sold Individually
Hi, We recommend referring to a good repair manual for step by step instructions. You can find more information here: https://www.carparts.com/blog/why-you-should-always-consult-a-repair-manual/ you may also check this other link https://www.carparts.com/blog/auto-repair/diy/

Hopefully you have a friend that owns a body shop and has all of the necessary cutting and welding tools. This is not a DIY job unless you are a skilled body person with light metal welding. Good luck !

The rust is cut out completely, and you replace it with the panel you purchaced might be much smaller depending how high rust is. then its welded into place and body work is done before paining. It came out beautiful on my 2011 ford escape. Hope what i said answers you question . Definately do not put over the rust you have to cut it out!!!

Answered by Majestyk / Wed, Nov 30You need to cut out the rust so the panel fits flush. I used some of the extra metal to make backing plates , then bonded the panels together. I no longer weld panels, I use structural adhesive and save a LOT of time and work. Turned out great. Wife is very pleased and you know how picky they are ! Good luck.

Answered by Gregg W. / Wed, Nov 30This part requires welding. A wire feed welder is the best option for this panel
