Question: Does this new part change the spark plug wiring sequence that the original ignition coil has? Also does the horizontal plug change anything since original was vertical?Clayton L. / Feb 10, 2022 / 2006 Ford ExplorerIgnition Coil, 6 Cyl., 2.5/3.0/3.2/4.0/4.2L Engines
Hi Clayton, I'm pleased to assist you. No. The firing order (sequence) of the vehicle will not be affected by a new ignition coil replacement. This is a direct-fit stock replacement part for the specified vehicle applications. It's just that the image representation of the part was taken horizontally. Be care full on 4.0 engines all seem to have different firing order... ohv, sohc and dohc. Are not same coil if it doesn't match exactly it won't work Chek 8th number on vin ... that will tell you which motor and parts you have and need ... coil cannot change programed and set firing order.

Answered by Thomas M. / Thu, Feb 10Question: Is there a difference in a new vs. old coil pack? My new one isn’t getting any turnover on my 1998 Ford Ranger 3.0L 6 cylinder. Is the wiring different from 1&5, 3&4, 2&6 like the old coil pack is labeled?CFL1982 / Feb 10, 2022 / 2006 Ford ExplorerIgnition Coil, 6 Cyl., 2.5/3.0/3.2/4.0/4.2L Engines
Hello! There is functionally no difference, and the spark plug wire orientation is the same.

Answered by Jorge P. / Thu, Mar 10Question: I have a 1994 mazda B4000 LE, I have put new sparkplug and wires on but it still does not run right. It will go 40 mph and starts fowling out. One spark melted the end of the gap contact. What do I do now?Doug C. / Jun 17, 2022 / 2006 Ford ExplorerIgnition Coil, 6 Cyl., 2.5/3.0/3.2/4.0/4.2L Engines
Hi Doug, I'm pleased to assist you. Often this is due to overheating. Pre-ignition which combustion occurs before ignition. The ignition coil creates the high voltage required to produce a spark at the spark plug. We suggest having the vehicle checked by a certified mechanic for real-time diagnosis and determine what part/s need replacement/s.
