Question: Where is this Located on a Ford F-150 2013 3.7?Bryan B. / Jan 03, 2023 / 2013 Ford F-150Speed Sensor, 2-Blade Male Terminal And 1 Female Connector, Transmission Output Sensor
Hi Bryan,
The speed sensor on a 2013 Ford F-150 with a 3.7L engine is typically located on the transmission, near the tail shaft. It is responsible for providing the vehicle's computer with information about the speed of the transmission's output shaft.
To access the speed sensor, you'll need to raise the vehicle and locate the tail shaft of the transmission. The sensor is usually mounted on or near the tail shaft, and is connected to the transmission with a wiring harness. You may need to remove some underbody components to gain access to the sensor, depending on the specific design of your vehicle.
It's recommended to consult your vehicle's repair manual for specific instructions and location details. An experienced mechanic can also diagnose and replace the speed sensor if needed.

It likely doesn't. You probably have a molded lead frame assembly that is bad. That's where the output shaft speed sensor got moved to. It requires a new lead frame assembly and removal of the 6r80 transmission oil pan, filter, and valve body to replace.

Answered by Gregory W. / Wed, Mar 01On my 2012 it was internal to the transmission. Part of the lead frame. Luckily it was a recall and had to be within 10 years or like 125,000 miles, i barely made it and dealership fixed it for me.
