Answered by Grace G. / Thu, Dec 22Hi, If it's loose and pulling out of the column you would probably want to replace it even if the turn signals worked. Having said that, I'm not sure that would cause an issue with your brake lights. It was a couple years ago but as I recall I was having an issue with my high beams. I replaced the switch with the help of my then teen age daughter and it was simple enough, took an hour or 2.

Answered by Bruce C. / Wed, Dec 21I was having a similar problem with my 2007 Lincoln Mark LT. My high beams would not turn on or off and turn signals work iffy. I replaced the turn signal with this and all the problems went away. Fairly easy replacement for an unskilled mechanic like me.
