Hi Donald, I'm pleased to help you out. This part is guaranteed to fit the 2008 Ford Fusion S, SE, and SEL Cyl 2.4L Pinch that points between your index finger and thumb and move it back and forth. The belt should have about half an inch of play when at the appropriate tightness. If there is less than half an inch, the belt will need to be loosened, Turn the bolt head in the center of the spring-loaded arm of the belt tensioner counterclockwise with a ratchet and socket to loosen the bolt. The tensioner will rotate freely before it comes to a stop. When the spring-loaded arm comes to a stop, continue to turn the bolt until the bolt loosens.
