The first super cold snap and ice was at the beginning of December, and my company van door was frozen shut. I tried to "gently" yank it open and well, broke the driver handle. It didn't break completely off, just the little plastic finger that retracts the latch mechanism. (Side note: Ford FAIL! Why in the world is this made of plastic in the first place on a vehicle designed for heavy, commercial use? Ford should have never designed it this way to begin with) Anyway, the new part from <a href="http://Carparts.com" target="_blank">Carparts.com</a> works great! Easy fix and to install. Fits perfect and smooth as butter operation, literally better than factory. It's only been about a month so I can't say yet as to longevity but seems well made... it's still plastic though. Great product and price!

Our door handle froze and snapped when I yanked it open. I replaced with this part. It works but is slightly spongy when I pull. I can’t be sure it’s the handle that is the cause of the sponginess so I’ll keep it at 5 stars. Had it on for a few weeks and hasn’t failed. It also looks brand new.

Open your door, take out the oval cover on the side of the door. Use a T20 tool to loosen the stationary part to the handle. Once that comes out you can pull the handle over in that piece's direction and pull out. Install the new handle by the reverse instructions.
