Question: Do you need to remove the tow hitch?guadalupe G. / Jun 02, 2020 / 2003 GMC Sierra 2500Rear Roll Pan, Steel, Fleetside, With License Plate Provision
Yes sorry u do have to totally remove ur regular tow hitch! But u can get a modified tow hitch that installs behind the roll pan & a flip up license plate holder bracket that attaches to the roll pan right where the hole that ur license plate is covering up & mounts over top of! So when u want to tow/use ur hitch all u have to do is just simply flip ur license plate up, insert ur shank with the tow ball on it into the hitch receiver that's nicely hidden behind the roll pan & tow or whatever to ur heart's content! The freakin sweet ass thing about these behind the roll pan hitches & the flip up license plate brackets are that when ur done towing or using the tow hitch for whatever, all u have to do is just simply remove the shank with ur towing ball (or whatever kind of towing shank ur using) out of the hitch receiver & flip the license plate back down over the hole again & then, wallah!! Ur trailer hitch is once again completely hidden behind ur roll pan & ur flip up/flip down license plate covers the access hole back up again so nobody's any the wiser that u even have a towing hitch attached to ur truck at all again!! I absolutely love it because it let's u continue to be able to tow anything & everything that u could tow before unless u do need to use it it stays completely hidden away behind ur nice slick pretty roll pan & doesn't come sticking out from under ur trucks rear bumper like a soar thumb & spoil the look of ur trucks ass-end like the regular old hideous towing hitches did/do when u still have just the factory bumper on ur truck & the hitch is sticking out & hanging down below it! When I decided to repaint my entire truck I figured while I was at it I might as well go ahead & add on the roll pan I'd been thinking about forever, I couldn't be happier with it, it look's so freakin sick with that smooth ass-end!! One more thing though, u'll have to remove ur spare tire too unless u want it sticking out down below ur nice new pretty roll pan which it will!!
