Hi Bruce, I'm glad to assist you. It is possible that the solenoid is bad. But, generally 2nd generation Honda Odyssey has issues with its transmission. This could also mean a bad transmission gear inside the transmission. You can try to have the solenoid replaced first since a transmission overhaul or repair is very costly to do first.
