Question: Is this the same as an oil control valve? I not very educated with car parts and the code reader says I need to replace the oil control valve.James T. / Nov 04, 2021 / 2007 Hyundai SonataVariable Timing Solenoid - For 2-Prong Blade Terminal And 1-Female Connector
Hi James, I'm glad to assist you. No, it is not, both are different parts. This part is controlled by the ECM, the OCV receives electrical signals, instructing it to adjust the oil flow as required, in accordance to current driving conditions. A bad oil control valve can result in rough idling, stalling, or just poor engine power. While the Variable timing solenoid manages the oil flow depending on the engine speed and load. A VVT solenoid in good working condition improves performance and fuel efficiency. A diagnostic code should show up to pinpoint the exact part that is needed to be replaced. We do not carry the oil control valve, unfortunately. Grab our sale price offer and click the link below to order today if this is what you really need after consulting with your mechanic. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.
