This lined up perfectly on my 78 CJ7 with T18 Transmission. You will have to trim the large tab between the 2 smaller tabs as it will hit the crank but that takes 2 minutes. I am not sure why some run without the plate, especially if you have a manual transmission and throw-out bearing. Keeps the dirt and mud out.
