Part fit perfectly. The prep work was a bit tricky but if you watch it on YouTube first, you shouldn’t have any trouble.

Jeep LibertyDriver And Passenger Side Rocker Panel

Overall a good fit, needed to make some slight adjustments but nothing major. Metal was easy to weld, for the price you can’t go wrong. 2004 Jeep Liberty local bodyshop wanted $3000.00 to replace I did the job including a new welder, supplies, etc for just about $900.00

Question: Do these go over the old rockers or do the old rockers need to be removed?Steve R. / Oct 26, 2020 / 2003 Jeep LibertyDriver And Passenger Side Rocker Panel
Hi Steve, This is a slip on type. You have to install this on top of the existing rocker panel on your vehicle.

I cut away the rusted area and pop riveted (about 1 -2 inches apart) the piece of the rocker that I needed; especially not trying to replace at the upper pinch weld due to a door fit problem. I did pop rivet and welded/tacked lower pinch weld due to inner rocker being heavy gauge steel. I had to repair inner rocker too. Note that in the 1970 - 80's I did body work and did a lot of rust repair. This is not an easy fix. It will be worse than you expected. The inner structure like the bottom of the inner wheel house just behind the dog leg was rotted out too and was tricky to repair once I cut away all the rust. Note it passed inspection in NH.

Must cut out the existing Rocker panel to replace. Then weld the replacement into place. Be sure to inspect the inner Rocker panel as well. Often, this requires replacement as well.

They are metal and slip over top the existing rocker panels they don't go the full length only about 3/4 there not a perfect fit and you have to do a little modification buy pulling then tight and either riveting or welding them. They work well if your not wanting to replace rocker panels and and need to firm up the rusted area and your plastic trim will basically hide them on the jeep liberty.

I installed them by myself using washerhead self drilling screws that cost about 15dollers. Than sprayed bed liner over them. They looked great. Paul

I believe the answer is yes you can. I found that by removing the top metal plate made it easier to fit the rocker panel to the car. Pop rivets is how I attached mine. Then used bond o to cover the rivets. Best of luck with your project.

Yes you can, but you need to drill some new holes.
