Just what I needed to make my trunk open the way it was intended to open. It was so heavy before I put these new struts on. I watched a you tube video to see how to do it and I had it done in 20 minutes.

The part works, but the description is NOT accurate! This does not have the chrome plated shaft as described. It has a black shaft like the cheaper versions do. I feel like I paid for one thing and received another.

My OEM lifts lasted 11 years. I replaced them with a couple of Monroe's which lasted less than a year and even when new provided little trunk lid support. From the time I installed the Strong Arms it was obvious they have OEM type lifting power, it remains to be seen how long they will last but so far the improvement over the Monroe's is dramatic.
