Question: Why does this filter not allow the cover to close shut?Curtis C. / Apr 04, 2022 / 2009 Mercury MilanPerformance Dry Air Filter Purolatorone
Hi Curtis, I'm glad to assist you. This fits the 2006 to 2012 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, and Lincoln Zephyr, 6 cylinders only. This is not compatible with the 4 cylinder engine. For us to double-check and be accurate on the part that you need, please provide the complete information of your vehicle (year, make, model, submodel, and engine size). The 17-character VIN would also be very helpful. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.

Hi Curtis,
This engine air filter did fit the V6 engine in my 2006 Ford Fusion. My suggestion is the following: 1) Put your old filter and the new filter side-by-side to see, if they are exactly the same. 2) If they are exactly the same, then you make sure that the filter is fully seated, before you try to close the top. 3) Sometimes, the filter wants to move as you are closing the cover. 4) After you have seated it, try to latch one side and sneak a look to make sure that it has not relocated form be fully seated.
