Question: How do I know if the problem is the motor or the switch????David / Feb 14, 2021 / 1991 Pontiac Grand PrixFront, Driver Side/Front, Passenger Side Window Motor
Hi Havid, You have to do isolation tests of the motor and the switch, or the bypass procedure suggested by one of our knowledgeable customers. There are many online resources you can check if you want a DYI procedure and not to spent much by avoiding the auto repair shops. A trusted vehicle specific repair manual is a big help as well or a video sharing site that has that procedure posted for all to people see.

David, Only absolute way is to bypass the switch and test without the switch. My problem was the motor. It gave me indications by lifting the window a little bit at a time When it would stop I had to lift it with fingers until it finally got stuck below the window frame and then I had to open the door covering to do the motor swap. This was done on a 1993 Buick Roadmaster. If you have the same car, allow yourself plenty of time. Let me know

Use a voltage meter connected to wires leading to the power window motor.
