Hi James. The tailgate only comes in primed. We recommend having it painted at a local body shop to match the existing color of your truck.

Yes this can fit the vehicle as long as it is Without Off-Road Package and it has the Type 1 (check this with your dealership) Tailgate.

Answered by Grace G. / Thu, Sep 08Hello John here I purchased an aftermarket tailgate from car parts for my Ram and it was the same as factory I even paid to get the paint matched at MAACO and was like $500. Way cheaper than taking it to a shop. It was pretty easy to switch out the components as well. Hope this helps!

Answered by John P. / Wed, Sep 07My 2013 Ram is used daily at my ranch and it gets heavy loads often, most loads have to rest on the opened tailgate so a few of us can grab it and so far it has held just fine.
