Hi Mario, I'm glad to assist you. Yes, it is pre-filled with a minimum amount of oil (3 ounces). Manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil" and refill with "proper oil" ahead of installation (full 8 ounces). The other purpose of the added oil is to protect the compressor during its stay on the dealer's shelves (prevent rust while stocked for some period), retailers' stores, and in the course of transport. Hi Mario, I'm glad to assist you. Yes. There is a small amount of oil to protect the inside from rusting during its stay on the dealer's shelves, retailers' stores, and in the course of transport. But manufacturers recommend that you drain the "shipping oil." The vacuuming process of the A/C system would suck off the pre-filled oil before the proper amount of PAG oil and freon are loaded into the system (a/c charging).
