I just purchased these running boards and planned to install them today. However, I wasnt anlt to because they do not come with the mounting hardware. It would have been nice to know at the time of purchase, that it required an additional purchase to be mounted.

Hi Lester, I'm pleased to assist you. Yes, a 54-inch running board will fit a standard cab 1998 Ford Ranger. The wheelbase of a standard cab 1998 Ford Ranger is 113 inches, so a 54-inch running board will leave you with plenty of room on either side of the truck.
