Aluminum cap is much more robust than the original factory plastic cap, but the center core has a tighter fit with the filter element than it has with the cap. Thus, the core comes out of the cap every time the filter element is replaced. Must remove the center core from the filter element and reinsert it into the cap at each oil change.
